New Recommendations for CAUTI Prevention

Updated and new recommendations for acute care hospitals to prevent catheter-associated urinary tract infections (CAUTI) were published in Infection Control & Hospital Epidemiology. These recommendations were developed by experts from the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America (SHEA), Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA), Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC), American Hospital Association (AHA) and The Joint Commission (TJC). It updates the Strategies to Prevent Catheter-Associated Urinary Tract Infections in Acute-Care Hospitals published in 2014.
