The healthcare industry is frequently targeted by increasing cyberattacks, which pose a potential threat to patient safety. To combat this problem, officials from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) have been working to better coordinate and clarify industry guidance. They jointly released a toolkit that includes ways for the health sector to mitigate risk, such as vulnerability scanning, best practices, and a framework for accessing and improving cyber resiliency.
