Position Summary:
Responsible for researching, identifying and nurturing leads who can benefit from the MI education and learning management system and become warm prospects. Engages warm prospects with MI Account Executives for demonstrations of MI products. Responsible for onboarding of new clients. Monitors helpdesk to resolve client issues or elevate complex client issues to MI’s technical team for final resolution.

Reporting Relationship:
Reports directly to MI Business Development Manager

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Works in a cooperative manner with management, coworkers, customers, and vendors; supports MI’s mission and vision and that of its parent company, LAMMICO, in daily operations
  • Meets assigned target dates and objectives; helps to ensure that MI quality, service and productivity standards are met
  • Proactively seeks new business opportunities in the market by generating new leads; and builds long-term trusting relationships with prospects to qualify them as sales opportunities
  • Maintains a pipeline of interested prospects and engages MI Account Executives for next steps including demonstrations, creation of proposals and finalizing contracts
  • Identifies prospects’ needs and suggests appropriate products/services
  • Finds new potential sales opportunities through utilization of Salesforce, phone calls, emails, social media, paid ad campaigns, conferences and third-party vendors
  • Identifies best practices that can refine the Company’s lead generation process
  • Monitors and resolves helpdesk issues originated by client calls and emails and elevates complex technical issues to MI technical team
  • Responsible for onboarding of new clients including orientation and training of client account administrators and users, setting up new groups, etc.
  • Looks for opportunities to upsell to current clients

Secondary Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Participates in industry conferences and tradeshows to identify/qualify leads
  • Other responsibilities and special projects as assigned


  • Some overnight travel required

Education, Experience and Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years’ experience in sales, marketing, communication and/or business development
  • Prior experience in meeting lead targets and/or sales goals
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact and work effectively with prospects, clients, and employees at all levels within the organization
  • Experience in organizing, analyzing and interpreting data and information to identify and qualify new leads and prospects
  • Proven creative problem-solving approach and strong analytical skills
  • Ability to manage time, set priorities and work independently
  • Strong customer focus and team orientation
  • Ability to appropriately handle confidential and sensitive company information
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Programs

Education, Experience and Skills Desired:

  • Proficiency with Salesforce or other CRM software
