September is Sepsis Awareness Month. Each year in the U.S., sepsis kills over 350,000 adults. The Sepsis Alliance reports that more than 1.7 million people are diagnosed with sepsis each year in the U.S. It is the top cause of hospital readmissions and the leading cause of death in U.S. hospitals*.
