It is with great sadness that we mark the passing of our esteemed colleague, Robert L. Redfearn. Early on in LAMMICO's existence, when the Company leaders needed legal advice, they turned to Mr. Redfearn, who remained LAMMICO's corporate counsel until recently. Mr. Redfearn passed away on July 21, 2023. Because he represented LAMMICO since our early days, he had a unique understanding of our mutual insurance company and our mission, as well as our special relationship with our insureds. That's what made him so well suited to provide LAMMICO with legal and governance advice. "Mr. Redfearn provided wise counsel to generations of LAMMICO leaders. His unwavering integrity, his steadfast loyalty, and his principled guidance will be sorely missed," said Dr. Frederick J. White, III, LAMMICO Chairman of the Board.
Mr. Redfearn was a graduate of Tulane Law School and a founding member of the Simon, Peragine, Smith & Redfearn, LLP law firm. In addition to representing LAMMICO, his 66-year practice also encompassed mergers and acquisitions, oil and gas transactions, securities and other major litigation. Dr. J. Michael Conerly, LAMMICO President/CEO added, "Mr. Redfearn was a true friend of LAMMICO. He provided sound counsel to our Company for more than three decades. He will be missed by all at LAMMICO for his wisdom and gentlemanly manner."
